Why buy wine en primeur?
Buying en primeur gives you the opportunity to reserve wine from the current harvest year. You'll usually receive your wine after the maturation period of 18 to 24 months at the grower's. The wine will then be sent to you, immediately after being bottled.
At the time of reserving your wine, you will only be required to pay a pro-forma invoice (no VAT is paid at this stage). Upon delivery of your wine, about 18 months later, you'll receive a final invoice (including VAT and any applicable transport fees). En primeur wines often become rare and hard to source, sometimes right from the outset! Our range of en primeur wines is rigorously selected to ensure your purchase will enhance the quality of your cellar. These same wines can, depending on the vintage year, increase in value within two years.
Please read (below) our detailed personal comments on each en primeur, including tasting notes, aging potential, as well as thoughts and comments from respected wine journalists.
